Coaching and Training

Pfizer is also committed to helping contract manufacturers and key suppliers in the developing world improve EHS skills through training workshops and coaching sessions. Helping elevate the EHS performance of selected contractors benefits their workers and communities, while protecting Pfizer against business interruption that could impact our supply chain and delivery of medicines.

Formal training began in 2006 for key suppliers in China and expanded in 2007 to cover India. In 2008, training focused again on India and China, with an emphasis on process safety and industrial hygiene. Coaching was also provided to suppliers in Latin America and Europe. In 2009, 47 training sessions attended by hundreds of colleagues were completed at 26 facilities.
